What’s occurrin’ with the competition, Sam?
Radio Competition results
To help us promote Youth Work Week we set up a competition giving young people in Wales the chance to write and produce their very own radio commercial.
We are delighted to announce that the winners were members of Rathbone Cymru from Pontypridd, who came up with a humorous script featuring fantastic characters.
The young scriptwriters got their inspiration from Gavin and Stacey, and you can certainly hear the influence in the commercial. Rathbone Cymru members Joshua Baker and Vicki Harrop joined the advertising agency at Red Dragon studios and directed the production of the commercials themselves. You can listen to the finished commercial below.
Voice-overs performed by young members of the Congress Youth Theatre in Cwmbran.
We were so impressed with the winning entry that it has been chosen to appear with other commercials on radio stations around Wales, as part of our national campaign to promote Youth Work Week.
The campaign consists of 6 commercials and we invited young members of the Congress Theatre in Cwmbran to perform all the voice-overs for us.
Our fantastic and talented cast of young people really brought the scripts to life.
